This morning, "Fox & Friends," Fox News' morning show for the criminally stupid, welcomed White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on the show to preview President Obama's speech to Congress tonight.

During the interview, Brian Kilmeade managed to ask the second dumbest question I've ever heard emit from a Fox & Friends anchor's mouth.

Watch for this exchange at 6:42...

Robert Gibbs: Health care reform is now through 4 out of 5 committees in congress and we're closer than ever before to get health care reform passed into law and helping the American people. [...]

Brian Kilmeade: You know you have... there's a poll out by the Gallup people, been doin' it a while, say more people uh want their representatives, 39% want their representatives to vote against it than want them to vote for it so how can you say you're winning?

Robert Gibbs: Ah, because we're closing to getting this done than we ever have been before. That's the reality. The president doesn't govern by gallop polls.

I'd much rather have seen Robert Gibbs slowly take off his microphone, allow it fall to the ground, stand there staring blankly at the camera while shaking his head is disgust and mouthing the words, "Are you that fucking stupid? Did you just seriously ask me that question? What special needs intern prepped you for this interviews? The same one that told you American's have impure genes?..." and so on until they cut the live feed.

Here are some other ways Gibbs could have replied...

1) That 39% would probably be 10% if you were off the air.
2) The premise of your question is dishonest as I never said we were "winning".
3) I've got a poll for you right here.
4) I'll answer that if you can tell me why a Gallup Poll is in any way relevant. Go on, I'll wait. Better hurry, it's almost your nap time.
5) Good point (and then shot himself).

Mr. Gibb's patience in the face of such epic stupidity in praiseworthy. Hopefully he is given time to recover before his next encounter with galactic dipshit Brian Kilmeade.
