Silly picture, huh?
We've mentioned before that letters to the editor are an Intershame pot of gold. Today we found another good one.

A letter like the one penned by George S. Morefield isn't unique. There has been an organized push back against the concept of man-made global warming for sometime now and this letter is a product of that push back.

The letter begins as follows...

Earth now cooling

In the 20th century, the average temperature of Earth's climate rose about 1 degree Fahrenheit, reflecting normal interglacial period warming. During the latter part of the century, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change spent billions of dollars coming up with computer models that forecast catastrophic warming unless carbon dioxide, essential for life and a minor greenhouse gas, was stopped from increasing.

A strange thing happened. Starting about 1998, the climate stopped warming and, in the last couple of years, has cooled about 0.74 degree Fahrenheit, almost wiping out the 20th century warming.

In spite of the discrediting of the IPCC's models, which could not possibly have forecast the last decade, the misguided prophets of planetary destruction persist in their doom scenario. The sun is not cooperating, either, being in an unusually persistent solar minimum, leading some scientists to forecast many years of cooling ahead.

Mr. Morefield cites some statistics, but fails to give us a source. I suppose we could take his word for it. Or, we could examine the mountain of evidence supporting man-made global warming Mr. Morefield chooses to ignore.

What does a mountain of evidence supporting global warming look like?
