Absent Mind Leads to Toddler's Death

Kesen Hu - today's tragic Intershame
These stories shake me up. The age of the victim and the manner in which he dies is too awful to fully wrap my mind around. From WFAA-TV...
(Kesen Hu), the father of an 18-month-old who died after he was left in a hot car [...] has been charged with endangering a child.
Hu told investigators he parked and locked his car at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday. The child wasn't discovered until 4:20 p.m. that afternoon. The windows were rolled up and the outside temperature outside was well over 100 degrees.
The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the boy's cause of death as hyperthermia.
Kesen Hu was to drop his child off at daycare before starting his workday for PayPal and "totally forgot". Instead, the child remained inside the car as Hu went about his day completely oblivious to torment his toddler was experiencing inside a modern day brazen bull.
Two things: The suffering Hu's child endured must have been horrific. That Hu must live with the knowledge of his child's agonizing death and bear the responsibility for it is an emotional burden I'm unable to fathom.
Kesen Hu is without question, this website's most heartbreaking Intershame.
UPDATE: Apparently forgetting to drop off your child before work is commonplace. There's something severely wrong with a society whose workforce's career demands preoccupy to the point of fatal negligence.
