Intershame On: Michelle Malkin |
Feigning Outrage

Michelle Malkin is mad at you
Michelle Malkin is reaching pretty far in order to find something she can pretend to be outraged by.It appears Malkin is concerned that progressives are becoming a group of violent vigilantes hell bent on locating their enemies and destroying them at all costs. If Malkin didn't believe this, then why would she take the time to denounce the dangerous rhetoric emanating from the mouth of same-sex marriage supporter and liberal heathen Jesse Connolly in a post entitled Left-wing thug of the day?
I bet you're wondering what Connolly said in order to draw the ire of Malkin? I'll post it, but be warned, the words you're about to read are extremely dangerous. Intershame will not be responsible for how Connolly's call to arms influences your future actions. That said, read the following with caution...
In a defiant speech to several hundred lingering supporters, No on 1 campaign manager Jesse Connolly pledged that his side "will not quit until we know where every single one of these votes lives."Gasp!
"We’re not short-timers; we are here for the long haul," Connolly told the crowd, some of whom wiped away tears as he spoke. "Whether it’s just all night and into the morning, or next week or next month or next year, we will be here. We’ll be fighting, we’ll be working. We will regroup."
An outrage Malkin concluded
"the left-wing mafioso in Maine are targeting Americans who oppose gay marriage"To Malkin I say this... look up the definition of dysphemism.
Sadly, I harbor suspicions Malkin knows exactly what dysphemism means. I'm also pretty sure she knows Ms. Connolly's comment was exactly that and not a suggestion that same-sex marriage supporters take to the streets with pitchforks
But why pass up the opportunity to feign outrage, right Michelle?

- 819 days agoWhat's amusing (I live in Maine) is that the Yes on 1 people up here are way more aggressive and angry than the No on 1 people are. If there's anyone taking to the streets it would be the Yes side.

- 816 days agoAn explanation may be in order: Jesse was talking about ID'ing marriage equality supporter votes. Because, even as good as the No side's Get-Out-The-Vote operation was, it obviously wasn't good enough, and Jesse is speaking to the need to ID even more No voters in order to be able to get them to the polls and vote. It's pretty hard to canvass and phonebank as part of GOTV unless you know where your support lives. Both sides work from voter lists, and both sides spend lots of time ID'ing their supporters from those lists. The real story here is that Malkin and her supporters apparently understand nothing about how actual campaigns are run. Or maybe that's old news. I'm admittedly not that familiar with Malkin's track record.
- 811 days agoIf you think her crazy is bad, you should check out her commenters. Holy schnikes - those folks are bats*@!t insane! I find the rhetoric coming out of the far-right folks really interesting. Calling leaders and activists Nazis, communists, socialists, etc. While there are a few progressive & liberal blogs that do name-calling; it doesn't seem as angry and out-of-control.
