On August 29th there was yet another health care town hall meeting, this time in Spring Valley, CA. Like the majority of these town hall meetings, protesters fighting against reform came out in force. Below is video and transcript of this protest.

Before you watch it, allow me to say this: After weeks and weeks of these protests, I've seen no evidence to refute the notion that what you're about to watch is an accurate sampling of the anti-reform movement. I've watched more videos of these protests than I care to remember. Take it from me, most, if not all of those videos look remarkably like this one.

That being said, I've come to the firm belief that these people, their positions and the ideology behind those positions are so detached from reality that covering the anti-reform protests as a serious movement can only be described as journalistic dishonesty.

These are the people the health insurance industry are putting all their stock in to kill reform. These are the people who are lauded by right-wing media as the great defenders of liberty, freedom and morality. These are the new conservatives.

This, put bluntly, is a joke.
