Mean ol' Robert Moon
Macon County Conservative Examiner reporter Robert Moon penned what is likely the most immature and vile article written about Ted Kennedy's passing. Even the reasonable amongst his readership had to be somewhat revolted by the article's hateful tone. It's the type of article you'd expect from an emotionally troubled first year journalism major who ends up switching majors or dropping out once he realizes he can't write for shit.

Unfortunately for public discourse, the rise of Idiot America has produced a market for immature and vile shit which, in turn, allows a person of Mr Moon's inadequate talents to make a living in the right wing media.

Ted Kennedy's death offered Mr. Moon another chance to add to his growing collection of lowbrow contributions to the editorial world.

Below (in blue) is Mr. Moon's piece on Ted Kennedy, with a few remarks of my own...

Nature's long overdue removal of Ted Kennedy from the U.S. Senate is a silver lining in what would otherwise be a hopelessly dark moment in the history of this country. It is a step in the right direction (only 59 to go). We have shed a back-stabbing, perverted crook who has spent decades betraying his country and everything it stands for...and was completely unaccountable to society.

One has to imagine that there is a special place in Hell (right next to O.J., Bernie Madoff, and Drew Peterson) for such a corrupt, ultra-partisan drunk who literally got away with murder, whored himself out to anything that would say yes, and openly fought for abominations like partial-birth abortion. Yes, Kennedy was a true American hero totally deserving of our reverence and adoration.

Mr. Moon's introductory paragraph is unremarkable beyond giving us a good idea of where his article is going (SPOILER: spewing venomous opinion). Throwing around phrases like "Back-stabbing", "perverted crook" and "betraying his country" mean little without supporting reasons. There is one notable remark in which Mr. Moon roots for the demise of the remaining Democrat senators - "only 59 to go". Perhaps he desires 59 more opportunities to make a fool of himself with articles like this.

His second paragraph is much more colorful. Basically, Moon wishes eternal damnation on Kennedy and mocks any notion of his admiration. Why? Because he's "corrupt" and "ultra-partisan" (like every other senator), a "drunk", (not a crime), "whored himself out to anything that would say yes" (I have no idea what this means), "got away with murder" (speculation) and "openly fought for abominations like partial-birth abortion" (seen another way - protected a woman's freedom from state control of her body). Mr. Moon's moral code is taken directly from right-wing radio. I hope to read an original thought (SPOILER: There will be none).

Some of his esteemed accomplishments:

- He led the vicious slander campaign that derailed the Supreme Court nomination of Robert Bork.

That's what the opposition party does when they don't like something the party in power is attempting. See the current health care debate if you don't believe me.

- He championed the cause of rewarding illegal immigrants for breaking into our country and bankrupting our system.

Rewarding illegal immigrants with what? Free cake? And trying to blame illegal immigrants for the United State's financial situation is like blaming the janitors at Enron for their debacle.

- He openly and aggressively attacked constitutional rights such as gun ownership.

If Mr. Moon can show me the piece of legislation Ted Kennedy introduced that bans gun ownership in the United States I'll give him a magical free-market dragon that feeds on government spending and breathes trickle down fireballs.

- He supported the government price controls that created the nationwide fuel shortage of the 1970s and supported every "green" assault on the free market ever devised...except for wind turbines, which would have ended up in his back yard.

Yawn.

- He perpetuated the absurd terror-apologist nonsense that intercepting the phone calls of foreign al Qaida terrorists somehow violated their non-existent constitutional rights.

Not true. Kennedy opposed the Bush administration's program of spying on its own citizens.

- He lied about, trashed, and undermined our troops in Iraq at every turn.

Here Mr. Moon recycles a favorite tactic of war supporters - attempt to attach the soldiers fighting the war with the policies that put them there. War opponents must make the argument that supporting the troops isn't a bumper sticker, it's providing them with an civilian leadership wise enough to use them properly. Until that day, eye rolling accusations like this one will continue.

- He championed the unconstitutional nanny state policy disaster known as "No Child Left Behind."

"Nanny state" makes no sense, however "policy disaster" is a little bit closer to accurate.

- He fought to un-define marriage for all of society so that gays could feel more mainstream than they are.

The incoherence and absurdity of this statement speaks for itself, but I abhor intolerance so allow me to interject.

As I type this, the homosexual community is waging their civil rights battle. Guess what? They're going to win it.

30 years from now my children will be asking be with bewilderment, "It's used to be illegal for men to marry men?". To which I'll happily reply, "Yes dear, you see there was subset of American citizens who hated homosexuals and went to great lengths to justify their prejudice against them. Luckily for everybody, the generation below them saw them for what they were, called them out on it and shamed them abandoning their homophobia".

Mr. Moon, you're the H. P. Lovecraft of your time - without the talent, of course.

- He senselessly made the poor less employable and products more expensive for everyone to artificially inflate the wages of a tiny fraction of entry-level part-timers.

Mr. Moon appears to be suggesting that fighting for a livable minimum wage is a bad thing. Child labor laws and workplace safety rules are probably unnecessary as well.

- He vigorously promoted Barack Obama's war on health care.

"War on health care" is a stretch for even the most vocal opponents of President Obama's proposed health care reform. When writers use extreme rhetoric, they jeopardize their credibility. No matter - Mr. Moon's credibility meter has been reading "Empty" long before he typed this absurd accusation.

Even in death, this disgusting partisan sleazebag managed to vividly demonstrate his shameless hypocrisy. Karl Marx himself would have been a less embarrassing and disastrous Senator for this country. No reasonable, thinking human being could see the death of this petty, America-hating fraud as anything but an improvement.

Good riddance.

"disgusting partisan sleazebag" What is this? An adjective competition? Ooo! Let me play! How's this Mr. Moon... No reasonable, thinking human being could have gotten this far through your article without considering you to be an untalented, homophobic, dimwitted, inexorable and hypocritical hack whose juvenile writing style so befittingly encapsulates your infantile understanding of causality. How was that?

Although pained by having to be so harsh in my criticism, I'm comforted in knowing that I fought back against hate instead of originating it.
