CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity Steve Miller had this to say to say about propsed climate change legislation...
"Our organization has never opposed the Waxman-Markey bill"

I guess by "never", Mr. Miller means...
ACCCE supports the timely adoption of federal carbon management legislation that could include a mandatory cap and trade program. Accordingly, over the past several months, ACCCE has offered constructive proposals to members of the House of Representatives concerning how H.R. 2998 should be changed. The House did make important improvements to H.R. 2998. However, ACCCE cannot support this bill, as it is written, because the legislation still does not adequately protect consumers and the domestic economy or ensure that the American people can continue to enjoy the benefits of affordable, reliable electricity, which has been so important to our nation.
...which is what he said in a June 26, 2009 press release.

I'm not going to pretend to be surprised by Mr. Miller's knack for distortion considering he heads an organization whose name brazenly juxtaposes the words "clean" and "coal" next to each other. Really, that could be the counter-argument for anything he says. If Mr. Miller openly speaks about the earth being round, Flat Earthers could attempt to re-establish their credibility by pointing out, "Mr. Miller you head an organization that claims coal is clean", and the mainstream scientific community would have to admit they have a point.

Why does congress give a shit about what this guy has to say anyways? They might as well ask the CEO of Coca-Cola how he'd feel about a high-fructose corn syrup tax. We know the answer. Let's (for a change) pass legislation without soliciting the opinions of people financially motivated to kill it.
